Step 3: Rounds 3 & 4 (Expanding The Square)
Sl st to corner space. In corner: [ch 3, 1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc]. 1 dc in each of the 7 sts across. *Corner in next space, 1 dc in each st across; rep around. Sl st to join. (11 dc per side = 44 dc total).
Round 4: Repeat identical sequence. Each corner receives [2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc]; each side receives 11 dc. (15 dc per side = 60 dc total).
Fasten off and weave in all tails. Your solid square measures exactly 5.0 inches across!
